Phil’s presentation can be found here: Where PM Training Can’t Take You.
The overwhelming majority of project managers were trained in a model that rests on the same assumptions as Waterfall. This model does not fit well with Agile projects, and even getting a certification in Agile Project Management does not prepare most for the realities on the ground. Project Managers find themselves under pressure from both management over them wanting traditional project measures and developers under them who refuse to fit that model. This session will aim towards giving Project Managers the tools they need to move from being at the mercy of these forces to actively managing the flow of their Agile projects in a way that respects Agile principles but still fosters predictability.
